Wir freuen uns sehr, den Performance und Medien Künstler Panos Sklavenitis als unseren zweiten Stipendiat im Gastatelier TOR 26 im Güterbahnhof empfangen zu können. Am 23.06.22 um 18.30 Uhr laden wir euch gerne zu einer performatives Treffen mit dem Künstler ins TOR 26 ein. Als Forschungsmethode und prozesshafte Materialsammlung und inspiriert von der Geschichte der Bremer Stadtmusikanten, plant Panos Sklavenitis für sein Projekt, eine längere See- und Land-Reise von Griechenland nach Bremen.
Panos Sklavenitis ist bildender Künstler, der in Athen lebt und arbeitet. Er hat Einzelausstellungen, Einzelprojekte, Performances, partizipatorische Aktionen und Workshops durchgeführt und an Gruppenausstellungen und Konferenzen in Griechenland und im Ausland teilgenommen, u.a. an AB4 AGORA - 4th Athens Biennale, Athens biennale 2018: ANTI, Month of Performance Art-Berlin, Kultursymposium Weimar 2019, ACTOPOLIS | The Art of Action. Er hatte die Einzelausstellungen "The miracle of the black leg" (Zabriskie Point-espace d'art contemporain, Genf, 2013) und "It's me!" (Stoa 42, Athen, 2019). 2011 war er Gründungsmitglied von Voices (2011, kuratiert von Elpida Rikou), Temporary Academy of Arts (2014, kuratiert von Elpida Karaba) und Most Mechanics Are Crooks. 2021 gründete er die Kunstgruppe Sinodi Papu.

We are very happy to welcome the performance and media artist Panos Sklavenitis as our second scholarship holder in the guest studio TOR 26 at the Güterbahnhof. On 23.06.22 at 6:30 pm we are pleased to invite you to a performative meeting with the artist at TOR 26. As a research method and process-like collection of material, and inspired by the story of the Bremen Town Musicians, Panos Sklavenitis is planning a longer sea and land journey from Greece to Bremen for his project.
Panos Sklavenitis is a visual artist who lives and works in Athens. He has held solo exhibitions, solo projects, performances, participatory actions and workshops and participated in group exhibitions and conferences in Greece and abroad, including AB4 AGORA - 4th Athens Biennale, Athens biennale 2018: ANTI, Month of Performance Art-Berlin, Kultursymposium Weimar 2019, ACTOPOLIS | The Art of Action. He had the solo exhibitions "The miracle of the black leg" (Zabriskie Point-espace d'art contemporain, Geneva, 2013) and "It's me!" (Stoa 42, Athens, 2019). Wir freuen uns sehr, in diesem Sommer vier griechische künstlerische Positionen, Mantalena Tigkili (Bremen), Panos Sklavenitis (Athen), Katerina Botsari (Athen) and Yiannis Pappas (Berlin), im Gastatelier TOR26 des Güterbahnhofs begrüßen zu dürfen. Die fünf Künstler*innen wurden in Griechenland geboren und arbeiten mit sehr unterschiedlichen Medien wie Malerei, Video, Performance und Installationen. Während ihres Aufenthalts in Bremen und um eine Arbeit im Dialog zu entwickeln und schließlich eine gemeinsame Ausstellung im September 2022 im TOR40 des Güterbahnhofs zu präsentieren, sind alle vier Stipendiaten aufgefordert, sich mit dem Begriff "Nische" auseinanderzusetzen. Der Begriff “Nische” beschreibt unter anderem die Rolle, die eine Organisation in einer Gemeinschaft spielt. Der Aufbau von Nischen ist der Prozess, durch den Organismen die Bedingungen für sich und andere Organismen in ihrer Umgebung anpassen oder eben verändern.

We are very happy to have four Greek artistic positions, Mantalena Tigkili (Bremen), Panos Sklavenitis (Athens), Katerina Botsari (Athens) and Yiannis Pappas (Berlin) at the Güterbahnhof's Guest Studio TOR26 this summer. The five artists were born in Greece and work with very different media such as painting, video, performance and installations. During their stay in Bremen and in order to develop a work in dialogue and finally present a joint exhibition in September 2022 at TOR40 of the Güterbahnhof, all five fellows are challenged to explore the term niche. The term 'niche' describes the role an organisation plays in a community. Niche construction is the process by which organisms adapt or just change the conditions for themselves and other organisms in their environment.
